Connection is Important

I just had the privilege of attending an online/zoom prayer fellowship together with some of my college friends, mentors, and teachers. It was such a blessing! They asked me to share a 10-minute testimony so everyone will have an idea of how I've been, as well as other colleagues of mine, they all shared what happened to them in the past, I don't know maybe 20 years? That's a lot to cover for only 10 minutes!

Anyways, they also ask me to sing and lead a worship song (because that's what I do right, lead worship! haha!)

Then it struck me when it was about my time to share, that I've been missing this connection, this relationship, this familiar and comfortable feeling of family! Not by blood, but we all share the same experience in the past, we all came from the same school, the same seminary, the same training, and the same hardships and successes!

I shared with them that when God has directed me and my wife (no kids yet) to move from the Phillippines to Phoenix Arizona (yes, I googled it and it's 7,659 miles away!) It was very tough for me. It's because of the idea that nobody can help me get to my goals anymore, no one to guide me, no one to help me in times of need, no mentors to guide and recommend me for job interviews, etc.

It was really tough! I learned a lot from being away from my friends, colleagues, and mentors. And one thing is for sure, I learn how to depend on God alone...You might be surprised but I believe it was all God's plan for me and my wife to move to the States to be a channel of blessings to our family and friends.

I grew a lot, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally...I learned how to depend solely on God and tap into His unlimited resources. Well in fact He is just a prayer away for you and me to ask, right? And that's what I did many years ago...and that's what I realized attending this prayer fellowship. That God alone is the source of our strength, our hope, our guidance, and the source of everything we need in life and more!

Here's a picture of me leading a worship song. And it was such an honor and a privilege to finally see them again. I'm glad I had time, no I'm glad I made time to join them!

Friends, if you got something from this blog right now, please be this one: that no one is an island, we need each other, but most importantly when all else fails, God is with us and He will never leave us nor forsake us! Be blessed!
