Why are we still dwelling in the past? Who is causing this to come back and haunt our memories? What are the steps we are not taking? How are we still here? When can we finally escape the pains of the past so we can see the bright future God wants us to enjoy?
Romans 12 reminds us: Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
If we keep loving the world and keep pursuing the things that will give us temporary happiness, then God's will for us will be blurry and bleak. God wants us to enjoy life to the fullest, but we can only discern and know God's will for us if we renew our minds.
Spend time in prayer (we all have time) read the Bible, discuss what you have learned from God's word with people you love, pray more, then repeat. See if this formula will work. In all honesty, I am very sure it will! You will be able to replace your self-focused thinking with a God-focused mindset!
